Frequently asked questions

Honest answers, even to the tricky questions.

Am I guaranteed a rental home through HuurSpoed?

No — and be wary of services that do promise this. HuurSpoed makes sure you see new rental listings sooner and can respond in a more targeted way. In the end, landlords still choose who they invite themselves.

What happens after my 7 free alerts?

Your dashboard stays visible and your saved searches are kept, but direct alerts stop. You can upgrade to a paid plan, or simply keep browsing in the dashboard for free.

Can I reset the free trial with a new account?

No. The trial counter is tied to your email identity (including plus addresses or dotted Gmail variants). That is deliberate: it keeps the free trial fair for everyone.

Why do I see rental homes from paid platforms?

Some good rental homes are simply listed on paid platforms. By default we show them with a clear label ("Paid platform", "Extra account needed"), so you decide. In your search profile you can hide paid platforms entirely.

How up to date are the rental homes?

We check sources continuously and run a quick re-check just before every alert. Even so, a home may have just been rented out — in that case you will see "Availability uncertain" or "Probably already rented". If something is off, report it with one click.

Do you support social housing?

To a limited extent. Some housing associations require their own registration (such as WoningNet) and only accept responses through their own platform. We show those homes where possible, with a clear notice that you need to be registered there yourself.

What do you do with my data?

As little as possible. Passwords are hashed, IP addresses are stored only as a hash to prevent abuse, and we use your income only for your own filters. See also our Safe search page.

How do I cancel?

In your dashboard under Plan, with one click. You then fall back to the free plan and your data is kept.

Does HuurSpoed respond automatically on my behalf?

No. Responding automatically leads to poor responses and is not allowed on many platforms. We make it as easy as possible for you — with direct links and a message generator — but you send it yourself.
